Thirty years of clinical traditional Chinese medicine on the Tweed Coast. Whole-person care that takes the time to understand what's beneath the surface — because pain rarely lives in one place.
Three brands, one origin: Dr Mal McKay, thirty years of clinical practice, and a belief that the body wants to heal. The clinic is where we are now. The product is what's next. The Wellness Hub is where we're going.

Heal by youA destination at Hastings Point that holds clinic, product, and community in one place. Treatment rooms, group programs, retreat space — the philosophy made physical.
The visionMost treatment looks at the symptom in front of it. We look at how your sleep, stress, gut, hormones, and history fit together. Pain rarely lives in one place — and the body is more capable of healing than we've been told.
A first appointment is 75 minutes. Long enough to actually understand what's going on, run a proper TCM assessment, and start treating it.
What brings most patients through the door. We meet you there, first. Pain that's been quietly tolerated for too long.
Sleep, stamina, focus, energy. The everyday function that pain steals — and which returns when the cause is treated.
Move again. Garden again. Travel again. Live the life pain put on hold.
Most issues that bring people to us — chronic pain, fatigue, stress, women's health, and recovery — have been building for months or years. They don't unwind in a single appointment. The Levels of Care framework gives us the cadence to actually make change.
Acute. The presenting issue is dominant. Sessions weekly until relief lands.
Underlying patterns. Sessions fortnightly. We treat the cause, not just the symptom.
Maintenance. Monthly or seasonal. Catch drift before it becomes pain again.
Symptom areas listed in line with AHPRA guidance — the names of conditions are for your medical doctor to determine. Acupuncture supports the body's own capacity to heal; treatment is always alongside, not instead of, your usual medical care.
Joint pain, back and neck pain, shoulder, knee. Sports recovery and post-injury.
Period pain, menstrual irregularity, hormonal symptoms, fertility support, perimenopause.
Tension symptoms, sleep difficulty, persistent overwhelm, post-event recovery.
Bloating, cramping, irregularity, food sensitivity-related symptoms.
Persistent tiredness, post-viral recovery, sleep-related energy issues.
Tension headaches, migraine patterns, sinus and jaw-related head symptoms.
Seasonal vulnerability, allergic patterns, cough and sinus symptoms.
Facial rejuvenation acupuncture. Soft, structural, non-aesthetic-clinic.
"Mal listened to me for an hour before he picked up a needle. The pain in my shoulder is gone for the first time in three years."
"Have been seeing Mal on and off for fifteen years. Best practitioner on the Tweed Coast, full stop."
"Came in for migraines, left with a real plan. Have only had two in six weeks since starting the protocol."
The first appointment is 75 minutes — long enough to understand the whole picture before we start. From there, we work in 12-treatment protocols. Most major private health funds cover what we do.
Diagnostic + first treatment. 15-min check-in, 30-min TCM diagnostic, 30-min first acupuncture session. We'll discuss whether a 12-treatment protocol is the right fit.
Standard treatment session for established patients. Most patients book at the cadence Mal recommends after the initial — typically weekly, fortnightly, or monthly depending on your level of care.
A structured pathway through Symptomatic → Corrective → Preventative care. Designed at your initial consultation around what you came in for. Pricing depends on your plan — we'll talk it through.
A soft, structural approach to facial work. Initial 90-min session is diagnostic + first treatment. Follow-ups are 80-min targeted sessions.
Most major private health funds cover acupuncture. We process your claim on the spot via HICAPS — you pay only the gap. We're also a registered provider for NDIS (via plan manager or doctor referral), Work Cover (via GP referral), and Motor Vehicle / Injury Insurance (via GP referral).
A direct-to-consumer wellness product, designed by Dr Mal McKay across thirty years of clinical practice. Hardware, conductive pads, and a smartphone app that work together — not on your behalf.
Meridiann is being designed and tested. Joining the waitlist gets you early access pricing and a copy of Mal's introductory protocol when we launch.
An AcuTENS unit Mal designed alongside thirty years of clinical use. Reusable hardware, lithium-charged, ten-hour standby.
Eight conductive pads, replaceable every 60 days. Subscription delivered. Plastic-free refill packaging.
A diagnostic-style intake, a tailored programme, a daily session that takes 20 minutes. Designed by a clinician, not a content creator.
Meridiann is intended to support daily wellbeing rituals as part of a whole-person care approach. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Always consult your treating practitioner about any health concern.
A destination at Hastings Point that holds the clinic, the product line, and a community in one place. Treatment rooms, group programs, retreat space, and the everyday rhythm of whole-person care. The vision is 2028 onward — what we're building toward.
Three treatment rooms, a second practitioner, the same first-person care that brought you to Pottsville in the first place.
Small-group programs around the eight symptom areas Mal works in — Pregnancy Programme, Family Care, Wellness Path, and seasonal offerings.
A quiet room for guided sessions with the Meridiann device, post-treatment recovery, and the kind of unhurried decompression patients ask us for.
"The Wellness Hub is the place where it all comes together. The clinic, the product, the practice — held in one space, on the Tweed Coast, designed for the way people actually heal."
He didn't choose acupuncture. It chose him.
For more than thirty years, Dr Malcolm McKay has walked alongside patients across the Tweed Coast — from Pottsville to Murwillumbah — helping them move from pain and exhaustion back to living fully. He spent a decade lecturing TCM at Endeavour College alongside private practice. The clinic he and Therasia built in Pottsville reflects what they have learned in those decades: that the best care happens when a practitioner has the time to listen properly, look at the whole picture, and build a real plan.
Most of the people we see are local — Pottsville, Hastings Point, Kingscliff, Casuarina, Cabarita, Murwillumbah — and a quiet number drive in from the Gold Coast.

Most people who come to us have been quietly putting up with something for too long. The first appointment is long enough to actually understand what's going on and start treating it.
